Some coaches systemize their recruiting to an incredibly nerdy level (guilty), typically guided by the principle that "if you can't measure it, you can't manage it."
Others rely much more on gut feeling - even if their assistant puts everything together in a beautiful spreadsheet, if the head coach likes the player (or doesn't), that's final.
